House Among the Trees
Strömma, Stockholm
Dramatically placed on a clif, forces this innovative architecture out among
the tree tops. The entrance is reached via a bridge stretched over a mountain
crevasse, with a courtyard surrounded by three individual structures that
smooths out the boundaries between inside and outside. The interior in the
main house, an open social area with high ceiling in one part of the house and
a more secluded, intimate bedroom area in the other, reflect the Nordic
minimalism and at the same time the material choices is flirtatious with the
warm, cold and unexpected of the nature outside. Warm materials in the form
of wooden beams and slats in the ceiling has been combined with neutral
tones and discreet details for a classic yet contemporary look.
