Collected Memories
Öland
Set in the windswept landscape of Öland, this two-storey L-shaped summer house embraces simplicity and material honesty. The second floor is cleverly tucked into the corner of the L, allowing full nearly 6-meter ceiling height in the main bedroom, kitchen, dining, and living areas. Expansive windows open to a wild meadow courtyard, blurring the line between inside and out. The palette—plastered walls, traditional pine, and Öland red limestone, quarried and refined on the island—grounds the house in its local context. Raw yet warm, the home evokes childhood memories and ancient echoes, offering a serene, deeply rooted retreat.
